Exciting things happening at the lab

March 7, 2018

Over the past few weeks, our young scientists have continued working on the anatomy and vocabulary of computers and have learned about the gastrointestinal tract and brain. We have also explored acids and bases, made our own pH indicator and confirmed the powerful actions of acid in the stomach. Our Jimu robot has transitioned from being hundreds of small pieces in a box to a walking and "talking" member of the lab.

On Saturday, March 3rd we were excited to launch our Science and Tech of Beauty Series with our first guest speaker Roselin Rosario-Meléndez, Ph.D. who works as a Sr. Chemist at L’Oreal USA's Research and Innovation Labs.  Students were excited to meet this beauty innovator and and had lots of questions about how she started her career. It was great for young women to see how their passion for science can lead them to an exciting and fulfilling career in the beauty industry.  At the end of the event, each attendee made their own flavored lip balm to take home and enjoy.

Up next, we are looking forward to the launch of our partnership with CycleBar Livingston on Friday, March 9th. This drop off program allows CycleBar members to enjoy their ride while their kids move full STEAM ahead at our lab. Learn more about our collaboration and discounted price here
