• Learning about science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics involves learning new words and definitions that are not part of vocabulary in common use by families and communities.

  • The STEAM Bee is a new competition focused on promoting science and technology literacy and knowledge in K-12 students .

  • Teams of students from across the US have the opportunity to participate in the STEAM Bee

  • Like the world-famous Scripps Spelling Bee, students will progress from schools and clubs to an international competition to be held in 2019.

  • If your child is a budding biologist, aspiring artist, scientist, engineer, designer, miniature medic or STEAM enthusiast, they can join a team and get started on their STEAM Bee journey today.

Competition Eligibility

  • All participants must officially enroll with a STEAM Bee Vocabulary Club with the help of a parent or guardian.

  • Participants must not have passed beyond the eighth grade or the age of on or before October 1, 2018.

  • All participants must be a member of a multi-disciplinary team of five members

  • Participants must have reached his/her 6th birthday on or before August 1, 2018

  • Participants must not have reached his/her 15th birthday on or before August 1, 2018

  • The STEAM Bee may disqualify any participant who is not in compliance with any of the above Eligibility Requirements

  • Assembled teams that want to complete must register for the STEAM Bee competition by November 15th, 2018

Northern NJ STEAM Bee Vocabulary Club - Livingston NJ

  • Parents and teachers can assist their child's or a team's preparation for the 2019 STEAM Bee by joining the STEAM Vocabulary Club. 

  • The Northern NJ STEAM Bee Vocabulary Club will meet live or virtually at the My Tech STEM EdVenture Lab on Fridays at 5:00pm for an hour starting on April 20th, 2018.
